Update report – Lignite and climate change: The high cost of low grade coal

In  December 2010 the Commissioner released a report titled Lignite and climate change: The high cost of low grade coal. The report examined the impact on New Zealand greenhouse gas emissions of proposals to exploit the large lignite reserves in southern New Zealand. This is an update on the response to the report and its recommendations.
