Letter to Minister Penk on marine geospatial information

The Commissioner has written to the Minister for Land Information expressing his concern over Land  Information New Zealand’s decisions to withdraw leadership from the New Zealand Marine Geospatial Information working group and to cease work on the Common Operating Datasets for Emergency Management. He warns such changes to these crucial data-focused initiatives will have far-reaching effects across New Zealand’s environmental, societal and economic domains.
