The Commissioner wrote to Chris Bishop, Minister Responsible for Infrastructure, in response to a media release on the Government’s second Quarterly Investment Report. He addressed comments relating to gaps in our understanding of the state of the Crown’s assets and the importance of having better environmental information. He referred to an earlier note sent to the Minister of Finance, Nicola Willis, outlining his thinking on the issue, and explained that in order to respond to the challenge of climate adaptation, the Crown must have a better understanding of the magnitude of its own exposure. “Where high quality information is lacking, well-formed decisions are unlikely.”
