The Commissioner has sent his research into biogenic methane and its warming effects to the Methane Review Ministerial Advisory Panel for consideration, along with a covering letter, as they review the science and targets related to methane emissions.

PCE has been conducting research into biogenic methane since 2018. This work has included modelling on livestock methane emissions comparing a business-as-usual trajectory to a path of no additional warming, as well as the potential for using forestry offsets for methane emissions. His most recent research looked at how much agricultural methane globally is contributing to warming.
