Address to the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions Working Group on Environmental Auditing Assembly

The Commissioner recently spoke to an international assembly of external government auditors on his work to improve performance and accountability for the environment.

He outlined the New Zealand situation and the development of the PCE’s annual estimates of environmental expenditure, which is produced to help the public and MPs understand if our environmental spending is making a difference. He also talked about what is needed to better understand the effectiveness of public money being spent on maintaining and restoring the natural environment.
